My Reflection:
I am proud of my work, because I knew perimeter maths really well.
I still wonder how long the perimeter of the titanic is.

My Reflection: I think I did well with estimating and my accuracy was quite good, next time I would like to improve on going for harder measurement likes 0.3 m/0.3 cm

My reflection: I think that I did well with explaining my moral story and my sleeping beauty story I tried my best to explain the moral in the girl of earth.I also think that I could do a little better with my sleeping beauty story.

Non Fiction Texts

I typed down the first few things I knew about fiction and non fiction books, then I read fiction books an I found  it  helped me find more ideas.

Reflection:

I am most proud of the non fictions because I knew more about them. It was easy to think about the differences between non fiction and fiction books.

Simple Sentences

reflection:

It was kind of hard to find statements and rhetorical question's but the commands and exclamations were extremely easy.

Next time I would like to try and find more rhetorical questions, because I only found two.

Abhilasha's Birthday

reflection: It was  easy to add lots and lots of detail, because I remembered

I Deserve A Day Off Because ...

We were learning  to write a paragraph and convince the audience on why we deserve a day off..

I thought this was easy, because there is lots of stuff I do and others do to. Next time I need to explain more about why I deserve from the stuff I do.

Friction

 We were learning about Friction and about how it helps in everyday life.

Reflection:

This was easy, because  Friction was a very easy topic. Next time I would like a harder topic about force.

Amusement Park

 

We were learning to make  arguments about the beach and amusement park. 

Reflection:

I think this was easy, because at Amusement park's there are more fun rides and at beaches their isn't much fun things to do. Next time I would like to try some harder decisions and more work on this.

Fairy Tale Hot Seat

What is Fairy tale hot seat:Fairy Tale Hot seat is where you choose a fairy tale and do a interview of main characters bad and good.

My Reflection:I am really proud of this video we made in such short time.Next time I would like to choose a different story.

Matariki ~Research

WHAT WE DID: I had to make a popplet  about why Matariki should be a Public holiday next I researched some facts about public holidays and typed on the key words, after that I had to put all of my research together to make a research information slide.Next I wrote down why Matariki should be a public holiday and why it should'nt be one. Finally I made a Report and put all of my information into the slide.

My Reflection: I think  I did well with my Matariki research, because I researched a lot about Matariki. Next time I think I should try to get more info into the slide.

PVP

To make maths easier I use Place Value Partitioning I split the numbers in to their Values Thousands, Hundreds, Tens and ones

REFLECTION:I thought this was quite easy, because I knew PvP very well. Next time I should work on another strategy for maths.

Mr Grim - Character Inference Chart

Reflection:

This was easy, because this character was quite boring and miserable and it was easy to tell what he wanted.

Next time I would like a character that's more alive.

Reading Follow Up - The Dream Guitar

Reflection:

 I thought this was easy, because I knew most of the vocabulary and the who, what, when, why and how's. Next time I would like to try and finish the whole work sheet!

100 Word Challenge

 Prompt#6 The prompt looked like a forest trail that was leading somewhere I imagined that I heard birds chirping and sticks and pebbles snapping and grinding.

Reflection: I thought this was easy and hard at the same time, it was easy to get to 100, but it was hard to not go over 100. Next time I would like to try and keep my words at 100.

Adding -ed to words that end in -y

Reflection:

This was easy, because I knew all of these words and there spelling it was quite hard for some people though.

Next rime I would like to have  some harder words.

Adding-full to the end of a word

Reflection:

I thought this was easy, because I knew all of  the words spelling and I also knew that for taking the past tense  is took. Next time I would like more difficult spelling words.

My Reflection:
This was easy because I knew all of LRRH's good and bad qualities. It was difficult because I didn't know many of the similarities. I still wonder how they have so many things in common.

I thought this was easy, because I knew all of the words  we learnt an I knew they're spelling.

My Reflection:
I found this incredibly easy, because I knew most of my verbs adjectives nouns and 
adverbs. I´m most proud of my  z´s´ because it was pretty hard to find an animal that  was not a zebra  which had to start with z!

This was easy, because I knew the meaning of these words.

Spelling

My Reflection:

It was easy to write the correct words, because I know my spelling!

I was really proud of my work, because I managed to do this very quickly and quietly.

Next time i'm going to try to take my time with it!!

Enlargement Art

     My Reflection: 

First we had to enlarge the image.Then we had to draw it with pencil.After that we needed to colour it with pastels.Next we put them all together  and it made a lion!

This activity was hard and easy the drawing was very difficult most of the shapes were hard, but some where easy.The colouring was easy because we just had to copy the colours from the image.

We wanted to choose the name Loyal Lions, because lions are strong and they work hard and we are loyal to each other and we work as a team.

How i'll be a Loyal Lion this year is by taking risks and working hard to achieve my personal best!

Two of my goals are to achieve my personal best and concentrate with my learning!!

My Weekend

Abhilasha Came

Over

On a beautiful Saturday morning my lovely friend Abhilasha was going to come over to my house to hang out.  At about 11:15 we arrived at my house i was, so excited to introduce her to ALL  of my  family especially my pet bird Ivy.  He was pretty frightened  of her for a while, but got used to her..

Later we watched  an episode of my favourite TV show  Winx. After a while we played some Xbox  we played a sports game we also played SKYLANDERS!!

Then  we ate a bit of popcorn and some delicious fish fingers, plus some hash browns, but we didn’t eat them!! We coloured and my Mum made a freezing cold  slushy!!!! Then we treated ourselves to some watermelon bubble gum Delicious!!!

I had an extremely awesome time I hope  Abhilasha can come again soon!!!

Maths Word Problems

 Kimberly bought stamps at the post office. Some of the stamps had a snowflake design, some had a truck design, and some had a rose design. Kimberly bought 3 snowflake stamps. She bought 5 more truck stamps than snowflake stamps, and 6 fewer rose stamps than truck stamps. How many stamps did Kimberly buy in all?

                     

                            

                     My Reflection
It was easy to find the key words, because I looked for the main words  in the question to find the answer and I also found it kind of hard to write down how I worked it out. The way I solved the question was 2+3=5+8=13.

Welcome to my Year 5 learning blog for 2016.This year i'm in Rm  25,my teacher is Miss Fisher. I enjoy learning and reading novels and chapter books.My goal for this year is to achieve my personal best.
